Inspired by the 16th century Spanish Renaissance architecture of the campus, the two-level academic building embodies the classical style and ambiance while remaining in harmony with the rich architectural style that dominates the USD campus. The ornately detailed “La Sala”, a two-story living room, is characterized by a gas fireplace, deep wood beams, coffered ceilings, and stone tile. This multi-use space was designed to serve as a central gathering place and venue for speeches, presentations, and receptions, and was modeled after USD’s sister school - Alcala de Heneres in Spain.
