The San Miguel Fire District project is a unique blend of three separate functions—firehouse, fire district administrative offices, and fire vehicle maintenance facility. The design challenge was to create an identity for each individual function within a larger, integrated scheme, in the context of a predominately residential setting. A neighborhood landmark, the building harmonizes with the rural character of the community while optimizing fire service functionality.
