Carlsbad, Calif., June 22, 2012 \u2014 <\/strong>Airgain, Inc., an industry leader in smart and embedded antenna technology, today announced that its high performance embedded antennas will be shipping in the next generation Belkin AC1000 DB and AC1200 DB Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ Gigabit Routers this summer. Belkin\u2019s selection underscores Airgain\u2019s unique engineering integration and services approach to providing advanced antenna solutions for next generation WLAN technologies.<\/p>\n

\u201cNew wireless networking products require an optimized antenna system to take advantage of the range and performance benefits that 802.11ac technology provides,\u201d said Mike Chen, Senior Director of Networking at Belkin. \u201cThis provides improved speed and coverage over previous generation 802.11n devices, and enhances the online streaming experience for videos, movies, and music throughout the home. Leveraging Airgain\u2019s embedded antenna technology and integration approach, our new 802.11ac router will allow consumers to enjoy the full capabilities of this new technology.\u201d<\/p>\n

Airgain has been designing and evaluating wireless antenna solutions for 802.11-based wireless LAN devices since 2004. The company has developed a proprietary set of performance metrics, measurement methodologies, and test conditions to enable predicting the relative performance of devices and networks at the component and application level.
