The Modern Hotel, Waikiki, Hawaii

Delawie, as Architect of Record in collaboration with interior designers Yabu Pushelberg, completed this renovation of over 140,000 square feet of public space for the Marriott Edition Hotel. The exterior façade, lobby and reception area, lobby level bar, and entry porte-cochère were completely renovated to set a chic arrival tone for this boutique hotel. Additionally, a separate nightclub and 250-seat restaurant for Iron Chef Morimoto will attract people from all of Waikiki. The lower 13,000-square-foot pool deck offers shade trees and chaise seating, while the upper VIP pool deck functions as a wading lagoon, complete with palm trees and sandy beach areas.
