Undergraduate Design Minor

The first few courses are underway and new ones are constantly being offered. The minor focuses upon design as a way of thinking, one based on an iterative cycle of field observation, problem finding, and evaluating alternative solutions and tradeoffs by prototyping and testing. The minor enables students from any division and major to diversify their studies and incorporate design thinking skills into their academic experience.

To receive a minor in Design, student must complete at least 28 units of which 20 must be upper division. All courses must be taken for letter grade, with at least a “C-“ earned in each one.

DESIGN MINOR REQUIREMENTS

Future plans include a PhD specialization, which can be thought of as a minor for graduate students, an undergraduate major, and a master’s degree. Return to this section for future updates.
