Manager of Business Development – Irvine or San Jose


Primary Responsibilities:

As Manager of Business Development, you will be responsible for proposing, establishing and implementing the general strategy for business development in the US, working closely together with the CMO and the entire Management team. You will be responsible for adding revenue and strategic clients to our business. Your specific responsibilities will be:

  • Business Strategy – Assist the Management team in identifying new business opportunities, refining business strategies and solving difficult business problems typically involving business case development and buy/build/license analysis.  Utilize business and technology skills as well as an understanding of what makes products successful in the marketplace. Interact with the strategic team to evaluate opportunities. Identify market trends and communicate to various stakeholders.
  • Partnership Development – Identify, analyze and prioritize partnership opportunities with applications and devices leveraging GreenWave’s technology platform and applications. Initiate discussions and evangelize GreenWave’s value proposition with target partners.  Maintain consistent visibility with key new prospects and existing accounts – maintain leads database.
  • Industry Advocacy – To prepare, organize, and participate in industry presentations, at conferences, conventions, symposia etc. where establishing GreenWave as a market leader will enhance our Business Development thrust.

 

Requirements:

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical skills coupled with a broad understanding of Internet/software technologies, understanding/passion for the smart home sector, capacity for strategic thought leadership, strong quantitative ability to solve highly unstructured business problems, and be a self-starter with high levels of energy and drive. In addition, the candidate must have solid relationship management and communication skills to work effectively with partners at the executive-level and collaborate with internal GreenWave teams.  Specific attributes should include:

  • Bachelors Degree in business or technology, MBA a plus
  • Demonstrated experience (5 years+) and success developing or managing software, convergent technology and other connected home products.
  • Excellent Networker
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high growth environment.
  • Background at a service provider or high tech firm also a plus.
  • Clear and confident communicator able to work effectively with both external and internal clients. Confident and at ease with sales process: on-site customer visits, RFP response to business close. Experience with a consultative approach to sales.
  • Highly motivated and competitive, strong initiative, negotiation and sales ability
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Occasional travel and conference attendance (less than 15%)
  • Background in banking and/or consulting a plus.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel modeling
