Cherry Chia Lime Soap

We love handmade! We love small businesses too, especially ones that make awesome all natural products.

Torii, from Soaps By Torii, shared with us how she makes her soap and added a Mamma Chia twist. She uses all natural ingredients: non-GMO, organic, and locally sourced when possible!

Since it’s spring, I wanted to create a scent that was light and warm. Incorporating lime essential oil into the mix and using Chia as the exfoliant, I ended up with a soap inspired by Cherry Lime Vitality!!

First, I melted all of my oils and Shea butter on the stove top. I use stainless bowls, as to not crack the bowl when it heats up.

After everything is heated I let both bowls cool to about 100-120 degrees and try to keep them within a 20 degree range of each other. I then mix them together using a stick blender or emulisifier.

They reach a consistency which is called “trace” that is pretty close to pudding. I then add my add-ins such as color (clay in this instance), scent(essential oils), and of course some Mamma Chia Seeds!

Mix some more and pour into a parchment paper lined mold. Beginners can use a clean shoe box lined. Sprinkle chia seeds on top while it’s still wet. Let sit 24hrs. Remove from mold. Slice. Let sliced bars “cure” for at least three weeks before using. This time allows the ph of the soap to lower and slightly dehydrates the soap for a harder bar that lasts longer.

Share your soap with friends and loved ones! It’s the perfect edition to an Easter basket or spring shower gift. You can find Torii’s soap on Instagram here @soapbytorii
