We love handmade! We love small businesses too, especially ones that make awesome all natural products.
Torii, from Soaps By Torii, shared with us how she makes her soap and added a Mamma Chia twist. She uses all natural ingredients: non-GMO, organic, and locally sourced when possible!
Let it Snowglobe
We love snow! But here in sunny San Diego, we don’t get to see a lot of it, so we need to be creative and bring the snow to the sand. We thought that a fun way to upcycle our Mamma Chia bottles, and add some snow to our holiday season, would be to make homemade snowglobes! A festive and simple DIY that everyone will enjoy creating together. Let it Snowglobe!!
Materials:
Recycled glass bottles or mason jars (We used a Mamma Chia bottle of course!)
Faux flowers, garland, ornaments, and all sorts of holiday flair!
Gold glitter
Fake snow confetti
Hot glue
Liquid glycerin
Distilled water
Glue the ornamentation to the inside of the jar lid
Tip: Leave enough room on the edge of the lid to make sure the lid will close securely around the entire jar
Add 2-3 pinches of glitter and snow to the jar
Tip: Less is more when adding the snow
Fill the jar with water, leaving a 1 1/2″ space at the top for displacement
Add 1-3 tablespoons of glycerin, depending on the size of your jar
Tip: Glycerin can be found in the cake supply or soap making aisle at craft stores
Insert the finished lid into the jar, sealing with the ring band
You’re done! Shake up your globe, and watch it snow!
Don’t forget to tag yours: #Letitsnowglobe #MammaChia
Tip: This is a great craft for the classroom, at home with the kids, or your holiday party!
You can skip the water and glycerin for a “less mess” option.
