Within this unique setting, the D Avenue Improvement Project was a landmark venture by the City to address much-needed pavement rehabilitation, pedestrian accessibility, and localized flooding, all under new stormwater management standards.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6816 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/06A-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"980\" height=\"654\" srcset=\"https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/06A-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/06A-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/06A-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/06A.jpg 1650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The complete and functioning project greatly enhanced pedestrian connectivity, providing a safer walking route to schools, downtown businesses, the public library, and other services in the neighborhood, while maintaining the area\u2019s curbless aesthetic.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6836 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Final-side-by-side-1024x404.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"980\" height=\"387\" srcset=\"https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Final-side-by-side-1024x404.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Final-side-by-side-300x118.jpg 300w, https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Final-side-by-side-768x303.jpg 768w, https:\/\/3lectrik.com\/murraysmith\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Final-side-by-side.jpg 1650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To improve bicyclist and pedestrian safety, Murraysmith applied traffic calming methods through extensive landscaping and the use of a meandering alignment spanning 10 blocks. Many neighbors applauded City staff for their efforts and the high level of service delivered throughout the project.
