MCB Camp Pendleton Enhanced Use Lease Microgrid Project
Nano-Grid Power System
Michael Wall Engineering provided electrical grid resiliency analysis and feasibility studies for multiple locations at MCB Camp Pendleton in order to facilitate the addition of on-site generation and off-grid power systems – known as “nano-grids” – which would provide power during utility outages. These nano-grid systems will stand-alone and also integrate with the base-wide microgrid. Functions of the nano-grids include backup power, grid-firming, and demand response; all with a reasonable return-on-investment (ROI) that diesel generators cannot offer.
