Airgain’s Bill Bidermann to Present at The 2012 Mobile Antenna Systems Conference

Vice President of Engineering to discuss advancements in proprietary testing and design considerations for the 802.11ac wireless standard

Carlsbad, Calif., September 17, 2012 — Airgain, Inc., an industry leader in smart and embedded antenna technology, announced its participation in the Mobile Antenna Systems Conference being held in Denver, CO on September 18-19, 2012.  Bill Bidermann, Airgain Vice President of Engineering, will be presenting the session entitled “Supporting 802.11ac Advancement with Repeatable MIMO Testing and Device Integration” on Wednesday, September 19.

Mr. Bidermann will review key design considerations, measurement methodologies, and Over-the-Air test conditions required to optimize antenna systems for maximum performance in devices using the new 802.11ac wireless standard. The 802.11ac MIMO standard, which can use up to four spatial streams and eight antennas in a single design, significantly improves wireless data and video performance in the home. Utilizing proprietary Over-the-Air testing, antenna design teams can evaluate the performance characteristics of various antenna solutions to refine system designs and ensure predictable and repeatable wireless performance. Mr. Bidermann’s session will also explore performance evaluation metrics, design simulation, and measurement methodologies for improved antenna design and integration.

Mobile Antenna Systems 2012 is a two-day international conference focused on the latest and most important advancements in antenna systems and technology. This conference brings the entire value-chain of antennas and antenna systems together – antenna manufacturers, dealers, integrators, end users, and subsystem suppliers. This symposium will have four tracks to address the antenna market for mobile devices including antenna design, integration and manufacturing, 4G developments and insights, emerging and growth applications, and supporting technology and integration. Each track is designed to cover the latest advancements in the applications, technology, materials, and economic development of antennas for mobile devices.

“With the help of our technology leaders, the 2012 Mobile Antenna Systems Conference is turning out to be a fantastic event for the antenna market,” said conference chairman Heather Krier. “Our attendees and exhibitors alike are excited about the possibilities these events will offer, which include great networking opportunities and the chance to build lasting business relationships with numerous contacts in multiple markets.”
