Airgain’s core competency is designing high performance embedded antenna solutions, which has allowed us to build a leadership position in the in-home WLAN antenna market. Driven by customer interest in alternative wireless connectivity technologies, we also provide design support for adjacent in-home connectivity markets, including cellular/LTE and DECT, as well as high performance designs for the in-building wireless market.
Airgain design teams provide custom support in the areas of antenna simulation, rapid prototyping, integration and testing. Our antenna engineers evaluate many factors when developing the optimal antenna solution for each device. Antenna-specific characteristics such as gain, efficiency, and coupling are reviewed alongside board level factors such as on-board noise and radio interference, as well as ID and housing constraints.
We currently maintain antenna design centers in San Diego, CA and Shenzen, China, with plans to expand these capabilities into additional markets in 2012. This regional support provides us with the flexibility to customize antennas specific to individual customer devices, maximizing design turnaround speed and ultimately device performance.
There are many and varied challenges to integrating the optimal antenna system for maximized wireless performance for a device. Every aspect of the device design impacts the performance of the antenna system and ultimately the device itself. We work side by side with our customers as trusted advisors during the design process – providing system level design feedback and support from the inception of a project through to the successful validation of the final ID, ensuring reduced design cycles and the best possible performance outcome.
