Airgain, Inc. is a development-stage company and wireless antenna innovator focused on improving the mass market’s wireless connectivity experience through our patented smart antenna technology and embedded antenna products. We design, develop and engineer antenna and wireless connectivity products, consisting of multi-element hardware and extensive design and integration services. Our embedded antenna solutions are designed for easy integration into a variety of wireless devices, including WLAN access points, routers, residential gateways, set-top boxes, media adapters and digital televisions. Market
Analysts forecast the total market for embedded antenna products to exceed $2.3 billion by 2015. In-Stat estimates the next 5 years will see an increase in the number of Wi-Fi-enabled devices, from more than 500 million in 2009 to nearly 2 billion in 2014. Devices leading the pace of adoption include Blu-ray players/recorders, e-readers, and digital televisions. The Airgain business opportunity has been driven by the rapidly expanding market for embedded antenna solutions for in-home wireless data and video connectivity products. Across all WLAN Enabled Home Media consumer electronics, which includes set top boxes, game consoles, Blu-ray players, digital picture frames, among other devices, Wi-Fi-enabled devices will exceed 200 million units by 2014
Customers
Airgain antenna products have been adopted by some of the world’s leading telecom manufacturers and networking companies, and are now being used by over 10 million subscribers of leading telecom carriers in the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. To date we have shipped over 60 million antennas to such notable companies as DIRECTV, Cisco Systems, Pace, Sagemcom, and many more. Our customers currently fall into two categories:
WLAN Networking – Manufacturers of wireless access points, routers and media bridges incorporate Airgain embedded antennas to increase the range and throughput of 802.11 products. DSL and cable modem manufacturers utilize our embedded antenna products to improve the performance of residential gateway solutions, increasing overall coverage within a home or office environment and maximizing customer satisfaction.
WLAN Video and Entertainment – Network service providers incorporate Airgain embedded antennas into Wi-Fi-enabled home entertainment systems to maximize throughput and performance of multimedia home electronics and set-top boxes that share streaming video, music content, and high speed Internet access throughout the home.
