The position is responsible for supporting design and product development to meet specifications and requirements. Major responsibilities include:
- Analyze, design, and prototype antennas for integration in antenna products and smart antenna products
- Implementation of customer products with Airgain antenna products
- Antenna design and system level RF integrations to develop new products and for customer product integration
- Board level RF simulation with Airgain products to identify problems and find solution
- Work with team on antenna integration on customer platform and provide solution
- Work with design team on design for performance and design for manufacture
- Engage with customers and partners for customer design and support customer product integration
- Support Airgain product documents, such as whitepaper, product design documents, customer integration guideline
- Work together with engineering teams in China for new product development and customer product integration.
Job Requirements:
WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years of design experience in antenna design, postgraduate work in antenna design will be considered
- Experience with EM simulation tools such as CST or HFSS
- Solid knowledge on EM theory
- Experience with embedded antenna design and miniaturized antenna design is a plus
- Good knowledge of antennas, transmission line theory, matching circuits, active and passive RF circuit design
- Experience with the characteristics and design of various antenna types is required
- Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks
- Hands-on integrated antenna design experience for mobile phone and portable device
- Hands-on experience performing S-parameter measurements, antenna pattern measurements, data post-processing using Matlab
- Familiarity with TRP, TIS, EIRP testing
- Knowledge of practical RF system design, include passive and active design such as path loss calculation, cascade noise figure, intercept point is desirable
- Knowledge of EM propagation in multipath environments and channel models
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on-time and work well as a team member in a team consisting of different design disciplines
- Good engineering work practice, excellent team player is essential
- Self-motivated and reliability is a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Startup experience is highly desired; willing to work various functions
EDUCATION
- MSEE, PhD a definite plus
