Erin McConville

Engineering Designer

Erin chose to earn a bachelor’s in civil engineering for one simple reason—it would give her the opportunity to serve the public. After interning with Murraysmith, she joined the transportation team full-time and now works on projects that involve ADA ramps and paving, helping improve the systems and structures that are critical to a functioning community.

Erin grew up in San Diego, California, but made the move to the Oregon to attend the University of Portland. When she’s not working away, she likes to go hiking, camping, and biking. It probably comes as no surprise, then, that her favorite place to be is outdoors on a walk.

What do you find the most rewarding about your work? The most rewarding part about my work has been interacting with residents who have been impacted by the projects I have worked on! I’m so glad that my work has such a positive impact!

How does great engineering work? By providing safe and efficient solutions to engineering problems.

Favorite food: Sauvie Island berries

What would surprise people about you? At 5 feet, 2 inches, I was the shortest hurdler on my high school track team!
