Another Murraysmith-Designed Concrete Tank Now In Service
The City of Enumclaw now has 3 million gallons of additional water. Congratulations to the project team on their hard work!
The new reservoir supports Enumclaw’s goal of continually seeking to improve water service and reliability to their 5,600 customers within the City and portions of unincorporated King County.
Rewinding to 2013, the City hired Murraysmith to evaluate their 2 million-gallon (MG) reservoir located on Roosevelt Avenue. The project team concluded that it would be safer and more reliable to construct a replacement reservoir.
Murraysmith worked with the City to design a new 3 MG AWWA D110 Type I prestressed concrete reservoir to replace the to-be-demolished 2 MG reservoir. The project included permitting, site orientation selection to address adverse geotechnical conditions, the design of 18- and 24-inch diameter transmission piping, and design of stormwater management facilities for water quality, detention, and emergency overflow.
Murraysmith also led the construction phase support efforts during the demolition of the old reservoir, provided construction phase support during construction of the new reservoir, and worked with the Department of Health and Department of Commerce to ensure funding requirements were met.
After four years of hard work from the City and the project team, we are proud to have another Murraysmith-designed concrete tank in service!
