Murraysmith + Quincy CEO Chris Rayasam Honored as one of PBJ’s Forty Under 40!
The Murraysmith + Quincy Engineering crew is proud to announce that our fearless leader, Chris Rayasam, has received Portland Business Journal’s Forty under 40 award!
At just 35 years old, Chris stepped into the CEO role at Murraysmith + Quincy and in under four years has transformed a small and steady regional company into a top performing AEC firm. Expanding from one or two central markets into multiple market sectors, Chris helped grow a staff of 80 people to well over 300. Most recently, Chris paved the way for Murraysmith + Quincy’s merge with CONSOR which sits at #69 on the ENR’s Top 500 Design Firms. This partnership has brought our team the opportunity to provide a range of planning, design, structural assessment, and construction services for transportation, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects across more than 60 locations in the United States.
Chris is passionate about investing in people by leveraging the firm’s performance to uplevel employee experience. Under his leadership, our firm began a Corporate Social Responsibility program and stepped-up employee benefits. His communication style and consideration for all his staff—it’s not unusual for Chris to take a junior staff member to lunch or send someone a Teams chat just to check in—has helped established a company culture that places value on each staff member regardless of seniority or role. Chris makes his staff feel like they are a critical piece of the puzzle. That’s probably because Chris recognizes that success hinges on the team and not a single individual. As a result, he leads with confidence and a trust in his team that few business leaders ever come to realize.
