Murraysmith Welcomes Two New Interns

Murraysmith is proud to support students by providing opportunities to gain valuable experience that translate into real benefits for the infrastructure in our communities.

Meet Murraysmith’s newest interns, Spencer and Gavin!

Spencer Snow is studying Electrical Engineering at Portland State University. He will be with us for the summer to assist in an ongoing partnership with HDR to inventory ADA curb ramps across the state of Oregon.

Gavin Bennett is studying Civil Engineering at Oregon State University and will be working with our wastewater group for the rest of 2017. This is Gavin’s second six-month internship through the MECOP program, and his first with Murraysmith.

Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP) and Civil Engineering Cooperative Program (CECOP) are cooperative programs between Northwest employers and universities to provide two six-month internships to qualified engineering students. The program equips students with a full year of experience as they enter their engineering career.

Most of our interns turn into full-time Murraysmith team members. Listen to what Angel, a CECOP intern-turned-employee, has to say:

“I got to work on a lot of different tasks, in a fun environment, full of experienced professionals. As an employee, I continue to learn and grow and am so grateful for my internship experience.” – Angel Castro, Engineering Designer

We welcome interns all year long, not just in the summer. If you want to learn about internship opportunities at Murraysmith, contact Christine at Christine.Mohammadpour@murraysmith.us
