Christoph’s journey to civil engineering began when he joined the military at age 18, becoming a mechanic on the F-15 Fighter aircraft. He liked being able to break down complex systems into simpler parts to solve problems, leading him to pursue engineering at Washington State University after serving his time. Now Christoph reviews and analyzes clients’ water systems, working collaboratively with the Murraysmith team to develop solutions and future-proof their infrastructure.

Christoph was born in Vienna, Austria, to a German mother and American father. He moved to Washington in 2000 and has called the state home ever since. He now lives in Spokane with his wife, who he loves to take on adventures.

What do you find the most rewarding about your work? Knowing that I work on something that is tangible.

What would surprise people about you? I was raised speaking German and didn’t speak English until I was 10 years old.
