Devin Montgomery, PE
A boomerang team member, Devin started out at Murraysmith after college, then he decided to explore the world of structural engineering by returning to school and working for another firm. Now back at Murraysmith in the transportation group, he works on projects involving utility coordination, roadway design, and structural design. His favorite part of the job? Collaborating with fellow engineers, clients, and contractors to make an idea into a reality.
Devin grew up on a farm in Eastern Oregon before landing in the Willamette Valley. With diverse hobbies, he never runs out of things to do in his free time—he dabbles in off-roading, motorcycles, beer brewing, Legos, and rugby.
How does great engineering work? Great engineering comes from finding the perfect compromise between vision and budget.
What would surprise people about you? My three older brothers are also engineers, and we record a weekly podcast together.
Best pace to be when you’re not working: The middle of nowhere.
Favorite food/beverage: Can’t beat pizza and beer.
