Floyd Harrington, PE
Growing up in rural Kansas, Floyd was introduced to highway transportation through his father’s work in a maintenance section for the Kansas Department of Transportation, a fascination that would develop into a successful career in transportation engineering. One highlight from Floyd’s fruitful career is his nearly 20-year stint working for the Oregon Department of Transportation.
Floyd moved away from his hometown of Moline, Kansas, to attend college at Portland State University. He settled down in Oregon after meeting his future wife, with whom he had his two now-grown sons.
How does great engineering work? Great engineering to me means working with a team to provide quality solutions to problems that impact peoples’ lives.
