Kevin Thelin, PE
A vice president at Murraysmith, Kevin appreciates the firm’s long-term relationships with clients, subconsultants, and colleagues and believes that they’re not only a testament to the quality and value of the work performed together, but of the personal trust established and enjoyment had while creating solutions to problems. He has served as a principal-in-charge or project manager on many challenging transportation-related projects, and he oversees most of the firm’s highway design and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) work for the Oregon Department of Transportation, as well as SUE services for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Previously, Kevin worked with French-Canadian non-governmental development organization, Terre Sans Frontières, in Rwanda, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of a rural drinking water supply program before, during, and after the damage of the 1994 civil war. Prior to that, he worked for eight years in Democratic Republic of the Congo, four of them with the Peace Corps. He also has been a consultant to UNICEF Rwanda.

Engineers are… the backbone of society. I’ve always been fascinated by the creating of infrastructure that allows us to congregate as societies and to do so in a way that doesn’t damage our surroundings more than necessary.
