Nathan Nutter, PE

Principal Engineer

While pursuing his mechanical engineering degree at Stanford University, Nathan ran track/cross country. After graduating, he ran professionally for Nike and competed in the 2000 Olympic Trials. This drive continued in his professional engineering career, growing his expertise in water storage. Now at Murraysmith, Nathan leverages his strategic water resources knowledge to provide top-notch aquifer storage and recover (ASR) wells and pipeline design to our growing world.

Nathan’s lifelong love of the deserts of the American Southwest began when he grew up in Tempe, Arizona. In addition to spending quality time with his two amazing daughters, Nathan likes to hike, trail run, travel, explore new restaurant, listen to live music, and play disc golf competitively.

How does great engineering work? Listening to clients’ needs, learning from others, and cheering on innovation, even when it’s a competitor.

What would surprise people about you? I’ve been to 48 states (ND and AL remain).

Best pace to be when you’re not working: On a trail.

Career in your next life: Same as this one!
